Greenville boys golf starts season with home invitational

GREENVILLE — The Greenville boys golf team began their 2023 season with the 27th annual Greenville Boys Invitational at Turtle Creek Golf Course.

The Greenville finished the event 10th with a team score of 380 and the Greenville B team finished 13th with a team score of 421.

Ethan Sunsdahl led the team with a 79. That was tied for the fifth best score in the invitational. Aidan Honeyman shot a 94 in the match. Aaron Lavy shot a 102. Bryce Blumenstock and Carson Good both had a 105. Drew Beisner shot a 106.

For the Greenville B team, Will Gettinger shot a 99. Cole Oswalt had a 100. Spencer Archey, Brody Weaver and Sam Condon all had a 111. Mason Hangen shot a 113.

Head coach Brian Stickel said he knows the kids were disappointed in their play in the invitational, but knows they will get better as the season goes on.

The team will travel to take on Tippecanoe next on Aug. 8 at Cassel Hills.
