Versailles and Brewer move on to girls golf districts

BRADFORD — Even in the rainy conditions, the Southwest Division II girls golf Sectional Tournament took place at Stillwater Valley Golf Course on Sep. 27.

The top four teams and the top four individuals from the non-qualifying teams moved on to districts.

Versailles finished third as a team and will compete in districts. They shot a 422 as a team and were led by junior Ella Porter with an 87. Senior Emma Garrison shot an 88, senior Gabby Dues shot a 111, senior Carley Timmerman shot a 136 and junior Danielle Francis shot a 150.

Tri-Village junior Reagan Brewer will move on as an individual as she shot an 81, the second highest score in the event.

Arcanum came up five strokes off from fourth place as they finish sixth with a team score of 428. Junior Brooke Anderson led the team with a 99. Senior Belle Harleman had a 101, junior Emma Rogers had a 110, senior Hannah Kendig had a 118 and senior Kaylee Flatter had a 120.

Tri-Village finished seventh with a score of 437. Senior Bella Black shot a 111, junior Taylor Begoon shot a 117, junior Macey Shetler shot a 128 and senior Haylee Potter shot a 131.

Ansonia finished 16th with a team score of 530. Senior Makayla Stachler led the team with a 121. Junior Zoey Elson had a 126, senior Macy Sink had a 129 and junior Sophia Aultman had a 154.

Representing Franklin Monroe, junior Abigail Fourman shot a 115 and senior Jadyn Brandt shot a 116.

Versailles and Brewer will compete at Heatherwoode Golf Course in the District Tournament on Oct. 4.
