ARCANUM — A 50th Wedding Anniversary is nearing for an Arcanum area couple, Mark and Carmy Farmer. On Oct. 6, 1973, they were married by the late Rev. Lee A. Cate at Ithaca United Methodist Church (now known as SonRise Church) in Ithaca.

Mark and Carmy were blessed with two sons: Josh Farmer with his wife Dawn, and Cory Farmer with his wife Mara, and all reside in the Arcanum area as well. They also have three grandchildren: Ashlynn Jo Farmer of Arcanum, Madison (Pierce) Lindemuth of Greenville, and Bennett (Kiannah) Farmer, of Newport News, Virginia.

Mark is semi-retired from SK Mold and Tool in Tipp City, as a tool & die maker and Carmy is a homemaker. The couple met through friends at the Greenville Skating Rink and have made their home in the Arcanum area for most of their married life. Mark graduated from Greenville High School in 1973 and Carmy graduated from Arcanum High School in 1973.

Both Mark and Carmy were raised in large families in rural Darke County. Parents of the groom are the late Willard and Helen Farmer; and parents of the bride are the late Doyle and Edna Marie Rhodehamel.

The couple have been gifted a wonderful anniversary trip to Savannah, Ga. by their children. A card shower is requested by their family; if you would like to send best wishes, please mail them a card to 1880 Littles Road, Arcanum, Ohio 45304.
