Lee Rocker coming to Memorial Hall

GREENVILLE — On Saturday, Feb. 24, Lee Rocker will bring songs and stories from his long career as bassist for the Stray Cats as well as his time with well-known artists such as George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Willie Nelson, John Fogerty, and the Rolling Stones to Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall in Greenville. This Special Event is part of Darke County Center for the Arts’ “Sapphire Celebration” season, marking the organization’s 45th year of presenting and promoting the arts. The show starts at 7 p.m.

Rocker, who has developed a loyal following of music lovers while consistently touring, recording, and performing around the globe since 1980, is most famously known for his years performing with Brian Setzer and Slim Jim Phantom as part of the iconic Rockabilly trio Stray Cats. During their storied career, Stray Cats have sold over 10 million albums, garnered 23 gold- and platinum-certified records, and appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine as well on TV’s Saturday Night Live. Rocker is an integral part of the history of rock and roll, known for playing, spinning, throwing and standing on his upright double bass during his high energy concerts. During this show, he will also share behind-the-scenes tales about his days and nights on the road while making history with other musical giants.

Also, DCCA membership contributions and funds provided by Darke County Endowment for the Arts support all DCCA presentations, and the Ohio Arts Council helped fund this program with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans. Additionally, DCCA receives funding from the Ketrow Foundation, Harry D. and Esther Stephens Memorial, Inc., and the John R. and Miriam H. Knick Fund of Darke County Foundation.

Tickets for this special event cost just $30 each; student tickets are half price.
