NEW BREMEN – The Bradford baseball team earned its first win of the season as it beat New Bremen 5-4 on Monday.
Bradford took a 3-0 lead in the first inning, but New Bremen scored a run in the fourth and three in the fifth to go up 4-3. The Railroaders were able to score two in the sixth inning to win by one.
Bradford had four hits and no errors on Monday while New Bremen had five hits and two errors.
Mason Justice went 1-for-2 with two walks, a RBI and a run scored. Andy Branson was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Dillon Reck and Bryson Canan both were 1-for-3 with a RBI.
Parker Smith scored a run and drove in a run. Walker Branson walked and drove in a run. Bryant Byers walked and scored a run. Jeff Wolf scored a run.
Smith earned the win for Bradford as he pitched six innings and allowed four runs on five hits, four walks and six strikeouts. Justice pitched a scoreless inning.
Bradford will play at Tri-County North on Tuesday.
