Tri-Village baseball team shuts out Ansonia

NEW MADISON – Tri-Village shut out Ansonia 8-0 in a non-conference baseball game on Monday.

Tri-Village scored five runs in the fourth inning and three in the sixth while holding Ansonia scoreless.

The Patriots had 12 hits and no errors while the Tigers had two hits and three errors.

Camren Munchel was the winning pitcher for Tri-Village, improving to 4-1 on the year. He went 5 2/3 innings, allowing no runs on two hits, five walks, one hit batter and two strikeouts.

Luke Wheeler pitched one inning in relief for Tri-Village, allowing no runs on no hits, one walk and two strikeouts. Christian Ricker pitched 1/3 of an inning.

Caleb Jones pitched 3 2/3 innings for Ansonia, allowing five runs on eight hits, two walks and three strikeouts. Ethan Fischer pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed three runs on five hits, two walks, one hit batter and one strikeout.

Lane Clark and Tyler Neal both went 1-for-3 for Ansonia. Ethan Fischer drew two walks and stole a base. Kane Kimmel walked once and stole two bases.

Jackson Plush was 4-for-4 with a RBI and a run for Tri-Village. Jared Buckley went 3-for-4 with a RBI and a run.
