Two crashes at US 127 and Children Home Bradord

GREENVILLE — On May 15, at approximately 2:06 p.m., Darke County Deputies along with Greenville Fire, Greenville Township Fire and Rescue were dispatched to US Route 127 and Children’s Home Bradford Road in reference to a two vehicle injury accident.

Preliminary investigation revealed a white 2008 Chevy Impala, driven by David Durst, 59 of Bradford, was stopped eastbound on Children’s Home Bradford Road at US Route 127 at the posted stop sign. Durst failed to yield the right-of-way to a northbound white 2019 Ford F-150, driven by Charles Miller, 69 of Ansonia. Durst struck Miller’s vehicle causing it to travel off the right side of the roadway and into the ditch where the vehicle rolled onto its top.

Durst was treated and released from the scene and Miller was transported to Wayne HealthCare by Greenville Township Rescue where he was treated and released.

A second crash occurred two hours later at approximately 4:08 p.m. Darke County Deputies along with Greenville Fire, Greenville Township Fire and Rescue were dispatched to US Route 127 and Children’s Home Bradford Road in reference to a two vehicle injury accident.

Preliminary investigation revealed a black Cadillac SRX, driven by Jeanette Bergman, 60, of Bradford, was stopped eastbound on Children’s Home Bradford Road at US Route 127 at the posted stop sign. Bergman failed to yield the right-of-way to a northbound maroon 2015 GMC truck, driven by Chris Mestemaker, 60, of New Weston. Both vehicles collided coming to rest on the roadway.

Mestemaker and Bergman were taken to Wayne HealthCare. Their conditions are unknown.
